Chargers Take ESBL Title

Lancaster, PA- The Chargers came out on top 2-1 in the ESBL three game Championship series against Williamson Trade this weekend. In a pitching dual on Friday, Lancaster took game one 3-2. The Chargers dropped game two Saturday 10-7 and then turned around to win game three, 6-4 for the clincher.

 

Lou Curcio (Hatfield, PA) was on the top of his game pitching all nine innings in his first career complete game. Curcio allowed only one earned run on seven hits with six strikeouts and no bases-on-balls. Curcio led the team offensively as well, going three for four and one run.

 

Lancaster struggled in game two registering only seven hits. Ben Markey (Dallastown, PA) got the loss for the Chargers allowing 11 hits in 7.2 innings.

 

Game three was a different story for the home team. Lancaster scored six runs on nine hits with three Chargers registering multi-hit performances. Brandon Boosz (Canton, OH), Tyrel Fuller (Middlebury Center, PA), and Drew Tilley (Annville, PA) all filled the stat sheet with two hits and two RBI’s.

 

Boosz also scored his first win in three relief innings. Lou Curcio struck out two of the three final batters to get the save for the Chargers.

 

The Chargers continue in regional action on Monday when they travel to Clarks Summit, PA to face Baptist Bible College at 1:00 PM.
