Edwards Wins NCAA Division III Independent Player of the Month

Lancaster Bible College senior men's basketball captain Carl Edwards was named Thursday as the Association of Division III Independents Student-Athlete of the Month for December.
In five games, Edwards averaged 15.8 points and 5.6 rebounds per game, while shooting 48 percent from the field. He helped the Chargers to a 4-1 record in December that included wins over rivals Baptist Bible College and Philadelphia Biblical University.
In the game against the Crimson Eagles, Edwards had 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting and pulled down 10 rebounds in the Chargers' 94-50 victory.
The women's recipient of the award was given to Cara Sczepanski from the University of Dallas.
Edwards and the Chargers are looking to snap a three-game losing streak this Saturday when they host Keystone College at 3:00 p.m.
