Chargers End Road Trip With Loss
Bookmark and Share
Heading into their final game of a seven-game road trip, the Lancaster Bible College women's basketball team was looking to end the trip on a positive, winning note. Trinity's Ashley Brown made sure that did not happen.

Brown's 26 points and 10 rebounds led the Tigers to a 69-55 victory on Saturday in Washington, D.C. Brown shot 8-for-15 from the floor and was 8-for-9 from the free-throw line.

The Chargers (2-12) were led by freshman Lauren Heliger who had 15 points, four assists and three steals. Nicole Karschner added nine points, while Kelly Long had eight points.

"We worked hard today," Charger Head Coach Bob Shannon said. "We just did not make shots when we had to and Trinity did."

LBC was hurt by their 9-for-25 shooting from the free-throw line.

"That's just not like us," Shannon said. "We have to be able to shoot better than that from the line."

The Chargers shot 21-for-66 (31 percent) from the field for the game.

"We had good looks for a lot of our shots, they just did not go in today," Shannon said.

LBC will host their first game since December 5 on Tuesday when they face Valley Forge Christian College at 6:00 p.m.
